Knowledge for Life
The German Cancer Society (GCS) in Frankfurt am Main has about 5000 members and is one of the largest scientific medical societies in Germany.
In cooperation with medical doctors, researchers, patient organisations as well as political institutions, health services, suppliers of pharmaceutical and medical products and health insurers, GCS aims to improve the quality of patient care in oncology.
Our objectives are to increase cancer survival, reduce cancer incidence rates and ensure quality of life for cancer patients.
This is achieved by supporting and initiating medical research, defining and distributing clinical practice guidelines and publishing information about cancer for doctors, researchers patients and the lay public.
