Abstract

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract.

The objectives are as follows:

This systematic review will provide an in depth summary of the existing evidence concerning the treatment of cancer patients with thymic extracts.

The four objectives of the review will be:

• to assess the effects of thymus extracts alone or in combination with tumour-specific therapies on disease-free and overall survival
• to assess the effects on a) tumour response and b) the efficacy of this treatment in alleviating side-effects of cancer treatment,
• to assess the effects on quality of life,
• to make recommendations for future research.
